MOSCOW, Russia (CNN) -- Three people were killed when a car blew up near a subway station in Russia's second-largest city, St. Petersburg, on Tuesday, authorities said.
The victims included a 3-year-old child, an emergency worker told CNN. There was no immediate indication of what caused the explosion.
The blast took place in the city's Viborsky district, the worker said. Officials suspect a grenade may have caused the blast.

Cesc Fabregas has been appointed Arsenal's new captain ahead of Champions League action.
Cesc Fabregas has been named as the new captain of English Premier League side Arsenal on the eve of Tuesday's Champions League clash against Dynamo Kiev .
The 21-year-old Spanish midfield star replaces William Gallas, who was stripped of the captaincy last week after publicly questioning the attitude of his team-mates.
Goalkeeper Manuel Almunia skippered the side for the 3-0 defeat at Manchester City on Saturday, a match which Gallas missed following his outburst.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger declined to say why he had taken the captaincy away from the 31-year-old Galllas, but confirmed it was a permanent switch.

LONDON, England A team of international scientists led by Dr James Hansen, director of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, say that carbon dioxide (CO2) levels are already in the danger zone.
Concentrations of CO2 in the atmosphere currently stand at 385 parts per million (ppm) and are rising at a rate of two ppm per year. This is enough, say the scientists, to encourage dangerous changes to the Earth's climate.
As a result we risk expanding desertification, food shortages, increased storm intensities, loss of coral reefs and the disappearance of mountain glaciers that supply water to hundreds of millions of people.
The report, "Target Atmospheric CO2: Where Should Humanity Aim?" appears in the latest edition of the Open Atmosphere Science Journal and brings together the expertise of ten scientists from the United States, the UK and France.
It is a departure from the previous climate estimates which predict that perilous CO2 levels will be reached later in the century.

Experts hope the beaver's return to the United Kingdom could lead to more habitat restoration.
For the first time in 400 years, the beaver has returned to Great Britain.
Four wild beaver families arrived at London's Heathrow airport Thursday night, the first step in an effort to reintroduce the mammals -- probably hunted to extinction around the reign of King James I, in the 16th or 17th century -- to the British countryside.
The beaver families, which were trapped in Norway after several months of careful observation, will be quarantined for six months before being released in western Scotland.
"This is the latest stage in a truly exciting development for wildlife watchers, not just in Scotland but around the world," said Michael Russell, Britain's minister for environment. "I am sure the beavers are awaiting their release from quarantine... as keenly as I am."
Conservationists and wildlife advocates hope the reintroduction of the beaver will spark a further restoration of natural habitats in the British isles.

Vincent Romero and Tim Romans were found dead in Romero's house in St. Johns, Arizona.
The mother of an 8-year-old boy suspected in the shooting deaths of his father and another man said Monday that the youngster "loved his dad" and had a strong relationship with him.
"He's a very good little boy," Eryn Bloomfield said on ABC's "Good Morning America." "What happened to being innocent until proven guilty?"
For legal reasons, Bloomfield -- who is identified in court papers as Eryn Thomas -- could not discuss details of the case. She said she is not even allowed to discuss the case with her son.
Prosecutors in Apache County, Arizona, filed a motion Friday to dismiss one of the two murder charges against the boy -- the charge involving the death of his father. The filing gave no explanation, saying only, "The state believes the interest of justice will be served by such a dismissal."
Authorities last week released a videotape of the boy's police interview in which he initially denied any involvement in the shootings, but later said he had shot his already-wounded father "because he was suffering."
Erica Michelle Marie Green was known as "Precious Doe" for years before her murder was solved.
The stepfather of a 3-year-old girl, known as Precious Doe after her body and severed head were discovered four years ago, was sentenced to life in prison without parole Thursday for killing the girl.
The child had apparently been killed three years before her body was found in a wooded area near Kansas City, Missouri.
Harrell Johnson, 29, was convicted last month of first-degree murder in the death of Erica Michelle Marie Green, as well as endangering the welfare of a child and abusing a child.
Sixteenth Circuit Judge John Torrence sentenced Johnson to four years and 25 years, respectively, for those convictions, ruling that those sentences will run consecutively to the life sentence, according to court spokeswoman Mary Jacobi. Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty against Johnson.

Jeff Klee had been missing since 1977; his remains were found this year.
CORAL SPRINGS, Florida Authorities solved a 31-year-old disappearance this year when they found the remains of Jeff Klee, missing since 1977, in a van in a canal.
But prosecutors have announced that no charges would be filed against the man who, authorities say, admits that he put Klee's body in the van three decades earlier.
"Today is a sad day for our family," Klee's sister, Laurel Steele, told reporters Thursday. "It tests my family's faith to its very core."
Klee's remains were found in March during a routine police sweep for stolen vehicles in the C-14 canal in Coral Springs, Florida. The van was in neutral when police discovered it.
DNA confirmed Klee's identity, but authorities say there was not enough evidence to determine how he died -- and whether he had been killed.

LOS ANGELES, California "Bolt" is Disney's first animated feature since Pixar guru John Lasseter took over the company's animation division, so it's no surprise the voice cast is loaded with top talent. John Travolta makes his voice actor debut in the title role, "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus plays Bolt's owner and friend, and then there's 13-year Disney veteran Mark Walton.
Who?
Walton provides the voice of Rhino, an irrepressibly gonzo hamster who's Bolt's biggest fan. But he's an animator, not an actor. A story visual development guy, not the star of the show.
Portly and balding, Walton is hardly a glamorous Hollywood figure, and yet he's doing press with stars Travolta and Cyrus, walking the red carpet with them and drawing the film's biggest laughs.
Walton's journey from schlub to star surprised him as much as anybody, he told.
Before the big-name voice actors go into the recording studio, he explained, animators do a kind of rough draft of the film, with temporary voice tracks provided by volunteers within the animation division.

По итогам торгов 24 ноября на ведущих мировых биржах стоимость нефти увеличилась более чем на 4,50 доллара. Это связано с ситуацией на валютном рынке — курс американской валюты в понедельник снизился по отношению к другим ведущим мировым валютам.
Так в Лондоне на бирже InterContinental Exchange Futures цена фьючерсов ближайшего месяца на североморскую нефтяную смесь марки Brent Crude Oil увеличилась на 4,74 доллара и составила 53,93 доллара за баррель.
В Нью-Йорке на бирже New York Merchantile Exchange декабрьские фьючерсы на американскую легкую нефть марки Light Sweet Crude Oil подорожали на 4,57 доллара. Стоимость нефти этой марки в Нью-Йорке составила 54,57 доллара за баррель.
Эксперты ожидают, что стоимость «черного золота» в ближайшее время увеличится. 29 ноября в Каире и 17 декабря в Алжире состоятся совещания министров стран-участниц ОПЕК. Ожидается, что по итогам этих встреч ОПЕК объявит о дополнительном сокращении объемов добычи нефти.
